Mirocopter SCH-2A Overview

The FIRST EVER Production Ultralight Coaxial Helicopter!

Manufactured in Slovenia, the Small Coaxial Helicopter (SCH-2A)  is one of the lightest manned coaxial helicopters in the world and is compliant to US FAR Part 103 Ultralight Vehicle rules. With the required care the SCH-2A will provide you reliable and enjoyable flight for a very low operational and maintenance cost.

The SCH-2A is an innovative coaxial helicopter developed and tested for more than 10 years.

The SCH-2A boasts very good flight characteristics including effective autorotation.

The SCH-2A is a true helicopter with standard helicopter command inputs. Vertical thrust is achieved by collective blade pitch control of both rotors. Cyclic blade pitch control of both rotors provides directional control. Yaw control is provided by moving tail plates. Because there is no tail rotor the SCH-2A can lift more weight and operate out of a smaller area.

Mirocopter SCH-2A

Features

Engine

The Mirocopter SCH-2A is powered by the proven Fiate MZ202 dual ignition, two cylinder, two stroke gasoline engine. The MZ202 engine provides more than 60 hp (44 kW) at 5800 rpm which is the nominal engine rotation speed on the SCH-2A. The full Fiate MZ202 engine package including an electric starter, electric generator, dual ignition, exhaust system, and modified fan cooling system weighs only 66 lbs (30 kg).

Rotor Blades

The Mirocopter SCH-2A is equipped with modified NACA 0012 aluminum composite rotor blades. The leading spar is made of extruded and anodized high quality aluminum. Inserted stainless steel bars are used for the rotor blade reinforcement and correct rotor blade weight balance. The rotor blades are very durable and have a safety factor higher than 3.

Instrument Panel

The Mirocopter SCH-2A instrument panel is a Smarteh 7" LCD color resistive touch screen. You can choose to display either imperial or metric units. The instrument panel shows engine and rotor rpm, cylinder heads and exhaust gas temperature, air temperature, battery voltage, date and time, trip time, speed, and altitude.
